The goals of the Center for Community Service-Learning are to raise the visibility of service-learning as an effective tool of higher education in a polytechnic university, to strengthen the ties between the community and the university and to increase overall participation in service-learning activities.

Committed to furthering the promotion of service-learning and its benefits to all involved parties, we, the staff at the Center for Community Service-Learning, are eager to consistently:

Connect faculty and community agencies to identify and create lasting partnerships that are mutually beneficial

Coordinate meetings with faculty, students, administrators and community members to strategically plan the service-learning infrastructure for the campus

Provide direct access to service-learning resources, such as articles, books, sample syllabi, to further the development and sustainability of service-learning courses, projects and partnerships

Conduct and organize service-learning educational and developmental workshops for faculty, students and community agencies

Educate faculty and community organizations on liability and promote the usage of already crafted service-learning risk management forms

Aggressively seek campus, system level and external funding for service-learning activities

Encourage dialogue at department levels about the importance of including service-learning in RTP criteria

Systematically identify and celebrate service-learning activities and opportunities through publications, website and receptions
